Scheduling and Cancelling Rides
Rides must be scheduled at least a day before the ride is needed. To schedule a ride, call the Bis-Man Transit scheduler at 223-9001 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. When calling, have the following information handy:
• Name
• Pickup location
• Destination
• Time, date, and day of trip
• Special information like a wheelchair, escort, or other special needs
• When you will return
Bis-Man Transit is a demand ride system but it is a shared ride. Please allow up to 45 minutes within cities and up to one hour for service between the cities or the University of Mary.
Riders will be picked up most of the time by Bis-Man Transit buses, but occasionally a shuttle van or Taxi 9000 taxi is utilized to provide the rides. Riders are not given a choice as to what vehicle it will be, but riders neediing a handicapped accessible vehicle will always receive one.
You must schedule at least one day in advance, but you can schedule up to seven days in advance. If you have a regular schedule, a reoccurring ride can be set up.
You may schedule as many rides as you need for whatever reason you have. There is not a limit to the number of rides an individual can have in a day, week, month, or year!
If you need to cancel a trip, you need to contact the scheduler at least 1 hour before the scheduled pick up time by calling 223-9001. If you do not call the scheduler and are not available when the vehicle arrives, you will be charged for a no show.
No Show Fees (accumulation of no shows starts on the first of each month)
• 1st No Show – Forgiven
• 2nd No Show - $2.50 fee
• 3rd No Show - $5.00 fee
• 4th No Show – Suspension of services for 7 days
No Show charges are not applicable for ADA-qualified riders. ADA-qualified riders will, however, be suspended for their 4th no-show.
